Hello Jamesville DeWitt Little League Families!

I am excited to announce that registration for the Spring 2024 baseball and softball seasons are officially open!!! Scroll down on the Jamesville DeWitt Little League website (http://www.jdlittleleague.org/) past the announcements to the “Register Now” baseball icon to sign-up.

We will have fliers out in the schools this upcoming week for both new and returning families as well as reminders in school PTA/PTG blasts. Follow the League on Instagram and Facebook (@JD Little League) where you’ll be able to get notifications about things like Picture Day, Moving-Up nights, etc. Of course, please also spread the word, especially to families who might not have played last season.

Registration will remain open until Friday, March 8th for both the Minors & Majors softball and AAA & Majors baseball divisions. A skill assessment will be held on Sunday, March 10th from 1-3:30pm at Sports Center Court Street for all league age 8-12 year old players (excluding 12 year olds who already played majors baseball/softball last spring). Please mark your calendars if your child is in that age group. All other divisions (co-ed T ball, A and AA baseball, coach-pitch softball) can register up until Sunday, March 31st.

A 2024 Little League Volunteer Application MUST be completed for all individual’s volunteering to coach, help out at practices, umpire, work a snack shack, etc. Volunteer forms can be downloaded at https://www.littleleague.org/downloads/volunteer-application/. Once completed they should be sent along with a copy of one’s driver’s license to Rachel Ricciardello (rrossi0725@yahoo.com). The League AND THE KIDS are always grateful for the parents who invest their time and help build the love for the game so please consider volunteering this year if you can.

I look forward to another exciting season!

Fall ball is just about over and it has been an amazing season. Last night our Binghamton Rumble Ponies battled in the majors championship game at Carrier Park. Although they came up just a couple runs short of a victory, they still finished with a league-best regular season record (out of eight JD, FM and ESM teams) in addition to being the playoff runners-up. Congratulations on a great season to the Rumble Ponies as well as our other majors team, the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers! Thank you coaches for all your hard work these past couple months and your dedication to player development!

Congratulations!

Memorial Day Happenings

Greetings JDLL Families,

For Memorial Day weekend we have a couple exciting things to announce. The league was invited again by the Jamesville Chamber of Commerce to participate in the Memorial Day parade. Last year we had a strong contingency of players and families march to honor those that have died serving. I’m hoping that we can do the same this year. I’ve been told that the parade will begin at 11am on Saturday, March 27th. Line up will begin at 10:30am somewhere in the heart of town (near the Depot and Jamesville Museum). It might be a good idea to park either at St. Mary’s field or Jamesville Elementary and walk down into the village.

I am super excited to announce that, for the first time in many years, we will have 16 players in total competing in the annual 10U/12U District 8 Memorial Day Wood Bat Tournament! All games will be hosted by Syracuse LL at the Van Duyn Fields (401 Loomis St., Syracuse) if anyone is interested in coming out and supporting our players. 10U and 12U teams will each play a total of five games over the course of three days. If you’re looking to come out, games are on:

  • Friday, May 26 at 6pm
  • Saturday, May 27 at 10am and noon
  • Sunday, May 28 at 10am and noon

That’s it for now. Hopefully everyone’s had a great first half of the season so far!!

Greetings Jamesville DeWitt families,

Now that the season has taken flight, I wanted to start highlighting and giving thanks to the many sponsors that contribute to our league and its player. I’m going to start with Dick’s Sporting Goods whose community outreach program provides sponsorship dollars as well as discounted prices on many of the essentials that we need to play baseball and softball. Thank you for your support!
